10 Things to Flip for Cash
These are things to sell and they can be the best things to sell on Ebay or other marketplaces or sites. Flipping is a great alternative to score some extra cash. Maybe you don’t want to work an online weekend job. Or, you might not be interested in getting paid to post on Instagram.
This is a real opportunity to make extra money, scam free. Here are some ideas. Check them out.
1. Clothes
This includes womens, mens, and kids/baby clothes. You outgrow clothes, by losing and gaining weight or growing (like kids). Instead of storing those old pieces like your high school prom dress (guilty), flip it for cash!
You can sell on Mercari, Poshmark, Ebay, as just a few places online. There are many more. In person head to consignment stores or consider hosting your own garage sale.
Tons of money in flipping clothes, especially vintage or designer pieces.
Accessories are included in this so keep scarves, knits, gloves, hats and other accessories in mind here too.
2. Toys
Toys are great to flip too and an awesome way to get rid of old toys your kids do not play with any more.
Action figures, barbie dolls, race cars, stuffed animals, all of it.
These are great for online flipping. Head to marketplaces like Ebay or Mercari to get rid of your old toys.
3. Designer Goods
Anything designer like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Armani, and other brands are great for flipping. Handbags, jackets, whatever you have designer, you CAN flip it for quick cash. I sold a designer peacoat within 4 days of listing on Mercari last winter.
4. Small Appliances
Think small appliances you have in your kitchen. Even those ones you got gifted and never opened like the soft serve icecream maker I have in storage that I need to flip. New or used, you can sell this stuff. It helps you clean out your kitchen counter and cupboards while raising cash at the same time.
5. Workout equipment
Workout gear and equipment is golden. Try selling this in person since a lot of equipment is super heavy and will be a total bear to sell.
- Treadmills
- Stairmaster
- Elliptical
- Stationary bike
- Free weights
This can also include yoga gear, jump ropes and anything workout related, even workout tapes. I bought P90X used for almost half the price, in perfect condition online several years back.
For in person selling, hit up LetGo and Offer Up.
6. Websites
Website flipping is up next. This is actually my bread and butter. I have been flipping sites, small and large for years, to the tune of six figures. You can do this in as little as 30 days. Click here to learn more.
7. Cars
A friend of my husband does this. He buys cars cheap and resells for a profit.
This requires a lot of capital so keep this in mind but if this sounds fun, it totally is. And, great for car lovers. If you have a mechanic-background, even better, just in case the cars you source need a little TLC.
8. Houses
House flipping people have been doing forever. Buy real estate at a great price, like foreclosure homes, for example. Then fix them up, renovate and resell for a great profit. Again, another high capital asset but, if you have the money for it, I hear it’s very rewarding. This is something the hubby wants to try soon. If we do this, I will keep you posted on how it goes.
9. Sneakers
Sneaker selling is huge and it has exploded in recent years. You can snag sneakers at regular price and resell at a huge markup. Tons of sellers are doing this and if you go to YouTube, you can learn all about it. Tons and tons of channels are documenting their journey with sneaker flipping.
10. Jewelry (especially gold)
Jewelry, especially gold jewelry is great for flipping. Take those pieces you don’t wear anymore and sell them online or in person. You can even get a great price at pawn shops, sometimes.
What is Reddit Flipping?
You can head to Flipping subreddit on Reddit to learn about what people are flipping. It’s great to have community and a place where you can discuss like interest with a group. Reddit is a great place for that. I totally live on Reddit.
Check out the r/Flipping subreddit to learn more.
Best Things to Sell on Ebay
The best items to sell on Ebay are small items that can be shipped for lesser shipping. You do not want to sell bulky or heavy items. It is a total pain to ship and difficult to calculate shipping costs in advance sometimes.
I have had success selling toys, clothes, small appliances like coffee makers, ice cream makers and other small appliances.
So, clothes, shoes, toys, small items like that are perfect for things to sell on Ebay.
