What are remote weekend jobs?
Remote weekend jobs are online jobs that you can work on the weekend.
Pretty self-explanatory, right?
These are desirable jobs for people that are looking for flexible opportunities. This might be if you already have a primary job or a 9-to-5 job, if you have a limited time or if you have more availability on the weekends to work an extra job.
Regardless of what your reason may be, there are plenty of these jobs available and I’m excited to dive into these seven online job opportunities to share with you.
What are weekend temp jobs?
Weekend temp jobs are temp jobs or temporary jobs that you work.
So these are not permanent positions.
They are often seasonal jobs or jobs hiring for a short period of time. The jobs on the list in this article can be considered weekend temp jobs because they can definitely be temporary in nature, but under your control. So if you only have a need to make money or make some extra money for the short term you can take advantage of these remote jobs.
The great thing is although these can be considered weekend temp jobs, you have the control here and they are not considered temporary by the company at all, like traditional temp jobs would be. Hope that makes sense.
Without further adieu, you check out these seven online weekend jobs that you can get started with right away.
7 Remote Weekend Jobs to Hop On
1. Social media manager
A social media manager gets paid to manage a company’s social media network.
So this means that you will be crafting a social strategy and executing it for your client. This can be for networks like Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter and others.
It’s kind of like getting paid to play on social media.
I’ve been a professional social media manager for over five years now and I absolutely love it. I started getting the hang of managing social media when I was doing it for my own company. I managed an online retail store as my first business. It grew in popularity and afforded me the opportunity to actually leave my day job and I did!
This is the perfect remote weekend job because it’s flexible and you can make good money managing social networks for businesses, believe it or not.
This is a good gig for someone who is savvy with social media, well organized, diligent and a great communicator. Your work tasks will vary from client to client based on their needs but it’s not unusual to do things like create posts for social media, make social graphics, engage with fans and other related duties.
You can find social media manager jobs in online job boards and freelance job banks like Upwork.
2. Graphic Designer
Graphic designers are in high demand.
The great thing about this job is that it can be done entirely online. And you don’t need to have a degree, experience or background in design to land a lucrative graphic design job.
Based on the job that you book, you may be doing things like designing websites, creating social media graphics, designing book covers and more.
If you have a great eye for design and you love to create then this could be the perfect remote weekend job for you. You can snag work in all the same places as I shared above for a social media manager like online job boards and freelance job banks.
3. Content writer
A content writer makes money creating content for their clients.
I do this!
This can include writing blog posts, resumes, white papers, product descriptions and more. If you’re a writer at heart then this is the gig that you want to be working.
Not only do you get to work flexible hours but you can work from home, take on an unlimited number of clients and make a lot of money as a content writer.
You can also branch off and create your own web property, a blog and make money blogging. Bloggers can make up to six figures per year or more writing content about the things they love.
4. Video Editing
Video editors make money by editing videos. This could be video editing for YouTube videos, sales videos, explainer videos, videos for ads, etc.
Everyone cannot edit videos and because of this, this is a job that is high in demand. Top-earning editors can make up to $100 per hour and your tasks may include things like:
- Creating a video concept or strategy
- Trimming content, cutting, merging
- Adding overlays and text, and
- Polishing the raw video material into a finished video
A professional proofreader makes money by spotting errors in grammar and spelling in documents. This could mean that you’ll be proofreading a book that’s in the final stages prior to publishing or proofreading a blog post or magazine article or another piece of content.
You can earn up to $65/hour+ for your proofreading skills.
Caitlin Pyle made $43,000 per year when she first started, early on in her proofreading career.
6. Survey taker
Survey-taking is a part-time opportunity where you can make money by sharing your personal opinion. This is one of the easiest remote weekend jobs out there. You can take paid online surveys from the comfort of your home, anytime you want 24/7.
Paid online survey takers can make up to $.25 to $500 or more per survey. There are many different kinds of surveys that you can take, from self-paced phone surveys to longer and more in-depth telephone interviews.
To make the most money as a survey taker, I recommend that you join multiple survey sites. Legit survey sites are free to join so you can register for as many as you would like. You may also consider opening another email address for free like a Google email address and have all of your survey offers funnel to that email so they don’t get lost in your primary email inbox.
Expect to make up to a couple hundred dollars per month taking paid online surveys. These are my favorite survey companies because they are high paying with abundant opportunities:
7. Virtual Assistant
A virtual assistant or VA is a personal assistant that works remotely.
You can work for a variety of clients like:
- Business professionals
- Busy households
- Small businesses
If you are well-organized and diligent then this may be the perfect online job for you. Virtual assistants can make up to $10 per hour to $100 per hour, based on their skillset and type of work they’ll be doing. Some virtual assistants even make six figures per year.
