Freelancing is all about independence and so many people do freelance work on the side, doing the same thing that they do in their day job, just working for others as an independent contractor.

It’s a great opportunity to make some extra money doing something you already know how to do which means no training, no additional educational requirements, or other specialized background needed because you already know how to do the work.

I did this after selling my e-commerce store and I still do!

11. Affiliate Marketer

When I first learned affiliate marketing the right way, I 10X’d my income in about 3 weeks! More on this below!

Affiliate marketing is about getting paid a commission to refer products to others.

Like, when you join Instacart and tell your mom, sharing your referral link. Then your mom joins Instacart and you both get a $10 kickback.

That’s affiliate marketing.

On a consumer level, it can be disguised as refer-a-friend programs and they are everywhere.

Look at the products and services you use and you’ll find refer-a-friend programs across probably 100% of them.

The commission you earn is a portion of the sale, at no extra cost to the consumer.

So, the consumer doesn’t pay you, the company does.

Affiliate marketing can be super lucrative.

The way I 10X’d my income from it, that I shared above, is by taking Michelle’s Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing training.

Michelle is a personal finance blogger. She talks about saving money, frugal living, and understanding your finances.

She makes $50,000+ just from affiliate marketing every month!

So, I joined her training and got started.

It was chalk full of tons of helpful learnings and I made back the cost of the training in like a week, no joke.
Check it out here if you’re interested.

12. Survey Taking

Get paid to take online surveys.

It’s so simple.

It only requires your time. No special training or formal background required.

Work from home, create your own schedule and control how much money you make from it!

The only thing, it can get addictive. You will love earning from sharing your opinion on survey after survey. Even though it can be time consuming, you can take surveys when you’re laying in bed lounging, waiting to be called back to the dentist in their lobby, etc.

They pay you in various ways including direct deposit, PayPal, Venmo, gift cards, etc.

Lots of ways.

These are some of my favorites:

  • Swagbucks-get paid to take surveys and more. Refer your friends and earn $3 per referral. Use my link and you can get a $5 bonus upon signup!
  • Survey Junkie-these ones are high paying, fetching up to $50 each

If you want to make the most money, join many survey companies. You won’t be sorry!

Making money with Online Panels

And for a chance to make more money sharing your opinion and try online panels.

With an online panel it’s like a longer form of survey.

So while surveys take a couple minutes to complete, panels usually take a minimum of 30 minutes sometimes up to several weeks for several months long. To compensate you for your time commitment you also get to earn a lot more money.

The three panels I participated in pay between $100-$400 each.

The shortest one is 35 minutes long and the longest one was about 90 minutes long. I got paid in various ways including via PayPal, Amazon gift card, and Visa gift card.

These are the companies that I’ve participated in the online panels:

13. Watching Videos

Wait, make money watching videos?

Yep.

People pay for this.

They do!

It sounds like a dream job, because it is.

Now, you won’t make thousands doing this, unless you do A LOT of it, and even then, probably only hundreds but, it’s fun and a great way to make extra money.

Getting Started

Getting started is easier than ever. You start by joining the video watching site for free, then watch videos and lastly get paid. These are the sites you want to check out for this and again, the more you join, the more you can make!

14. Download Apps

influencer life

Downloading apps is a thing too! These opportunities are found on survey taking sites. So, some of the sites we shared above include opportunities to download apps and get paid.

This is really cool because you get exposure to the newest, coolest apps out there.

Some of them even pay you every month so that’s passive income and nothing beats making money while you sleep or making money for doing nothing!

If passive income gets you excited, here are 7 other ways to make money with passive income.

Check out these sites that can pay you to download apps:

16. Online Retail Arbitrage

influencer life

Arbitrage is one of my favorite online weekend jobs.

It is profiting from the differences in price in the market.

It’s flipping.

You find a pair of socks at Walmart for $3 and resell on Ebay for $6, making a $3 profit.

Rinse and repeat to be on your way to making a full time or part time income.

This is dropshipping.

It’s flea market flipping.

It’s how pawn shops work, too.

Really, it ‘s everywhere.

How to Get Started

Source products. Find products on sale online or in person. Check out department stores, retail pharmacies, general goods stores, specialty stores, etc.

Examples include:

  • Walmart
  • Home Depot
  • Lowes
  • Bed Bath & Beyond
  • Sears
  • JCPenney
  • Target

The list continues.

It’s pretty easy to do and people enjoy it.

I did this a few weeks back and made over $7,500 in my first 4 days!

How to Make Money with Website Flipping

I make money with something called website flipping.

So, you can make money flipping digital assets like websites and domains and that’s where website flipping comes in. After I sold my first website which was an e-commerce store for nearly 6 figures, I really became hooked.

My next flip made me $12,000. The flip after that may be $8000. And I went on to continue flipping dozens more websites.

How it Works?

Website flipping is something that I love because it’s super easy to do believe it or not. I’m not tech savvy at all and even I can do it. You can work from home, you call the shots because you’re the boss, and this is a business it’s really easy to scale.

If you can follow instructions on the back of a cake mix box to bake a cake then you can flip websites. It really is that simple.

It starts with creating the website and this process will take you about 30 minutes.

Next you’re going to set up your site which will include adding pages and posts, you’ll add a beautiful theme, add content and then launch your website.

Now there are a ton of different kinds of sites that you can build and flip like, directories, blogs, e-commerce stores, etc.

The type of websites that investors are interested in or turn-key or semi-passive or passive income-producing sites like blogs.

And that’s the kind of website that I focused on creating and flipping, blogs.

Blogs are so simple to create. All you have to do is pick a profitable niche then write content about that niche. Next monetize the blog with affiliate links, advertisements, sponsorships, even your own products and make money every month. Then when the time is right, you can flip your creation for a profit!

Check out my training to learn more about website flipping. I’ve tried over 700 students and students have seen success within the first 30 days making back their investment of the course.

17. Social Media Influencer

woman holding cell phone

A social media influencer is someone who influences the masses or an audience using social media.

Back in the day, celebrities were all the talk and they were who the public would look up to. So you would see a lot of celebrities on TV commercials and sponsored by brands because little girls wanted to look like and be Mariah Carey, Angelina Jolie, or Julia Roberts when they grew up.

Today, things are much different and ordinary people are becoming influencers represented by huge brands like Nike, Pepsi and many more.

It’s actually pretty cool because an everyday person can turn into an online celebrity becoming famous and making a ton of money.

And they’re starting younger and younger.

I’ve seen middle school and high school students start to gain and grow a social following, abandoning going to college because they’re making so much money already doing what they’re doing as an influencer!

Like 15-year old Tik Tok star Charli D’amelio who is reportedly worth millions.

Or, Addison Rae from Tik Tok who has been reported having a net worth of $500,000.

These two stars combined have nearly 100,000,000 followers.

And with more social networks popping up left and right you’re seeing you stars being born out of ordinary people. So how can you create an online weekend job as a social media influencer? Well, not without a lot of hard work and hours on social media. Here is how you can get started.

How to get started?

First, pick a social network. You may see a lot of influencers on multiple networks but they always start with 1 core network, growing about one and then branching off to be on others.

There’s YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok and many other networks. Just pick one and go with it.

Next, create a plan.

This isn’t have to be a formal business plan or social media plan or anything like that but, you do you want to create goals for yourself and then check in periodically to make sure that you are reaching those goals, adjusting for continued growth.

For example, you may have a goal of reaching 100 followers in your first month and then once you achieve that goal you will adjust and set your next go to reaching 1000 followers in your first three months. As you are achieving your goals and even if you’re not, you can continue to measure your progress and make changes as needed.

When it’s time to start posting. You’ll want to post often and post consistently. As you’re getting comments an interaction with fans, make sure that you are engaging with them.

Ask your audience questions, pool room, start a conversation, invite them to contact you, feel free to contact them and do everything that you can to keep engagement strong.

This is one of the keys to creating an engaged, loyal audience. And with the royal audience you’ll have friends that will listen and trust you and buy from you in the future.

Then, it’s time to start posting.

You do wanna post often and post consistently. As you’re getting comments in interaction with fans, make sure that you are engaging with them.

Ask your audience questions, poll them, start a conversation, invite them to contact you, feel free to contact them and do everything that you can to keep engagement strong. This is one of the keys to creating an engaged, loyal audience. And with a loyal audience you’ll have fans that will listen and trust you and buy from you in the future.

The whole point of being a social media influencer as an online weekend job is to make money so how can you actually do that, even if you aren’t a big influencer?

How to Monetize Your Following?

There are plenty of ways to monetize your social following:

  • Sponsors
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Ads

Choose one or more of these paths to start making money as a social media influencer.

Make the most money by beating out your competitors.

If you want to look into spying on your competitors on Instagram, you’ll wanna review this resource, which gives you valuable Instagram insight.

Learning from the competition is reflecting and can help you improve your own brand.

18. Rent Your Car

Are you a homebody like me that takes solace being in your own space at home comfortable and cozy? What if you could monetize your car sitting in your driveway all weekend long?

Well, you can!

Turo helps by matching you with the renters that are looking for vehicles to rent out. It’s kind of like the Airbnb but for the car rental market.

So your vehicle will be rented out to short term car renters who will be screened for their background and history. Your car transfer is a seamless transaction to hand off the vehicle to the renter and you can do this during the week as well as on weekends. It’s a hands off way making extra money doing nothing.

A lot of people actually take advantage of this during the week too. When I was working my corporate job, I spent 12 hours in the office with my car sitting in the parking garage. That time could have been spent with a short term renter.

and I could’ve been monetizing my car.

If you’re in a similar situation you may consider renting out your vehicle during the week as well.
