What is website flipping?

Okay, so website flipping is all about digital real estate.

If you think about real estate, it is property that can appreciate over time. It can be a home or land. The rate of appreciation can happen quickly sometimes which brings the market for flippers who can come in, improve the property and flip it for a profit.

Flipping websites and digital real estate can work the same way.

And when you talk about digital real estate it’s about websites and domains. For this conversation we’re going to talk strictly about websites only.

This is how website flipping works…

You start by buying or building a website. Then you improve the website value. Lastly, you can sell the website for profit.

For example, you buy a website for $100, then you do the following:

  • Add content
  • Add Google ads
  • Promote the website
  • Get it to generating $50 per month

Then, you can flip it 2 months later for $1,000.

Another example: You build a website for $50, do the above activities and flip it 30 days later for $500.

You just made 10X on your investment!

That’s website flipping!

What’s great about flipping websites is that this business is super easy to scale. In the example above, around 10X was made on the site in a short time. Imagine if you did the same but for 10 websites instead of one.

What if you hired a team of freelancers to work on sites in bulk, managing 50 to 100 sites in your portfolio?

Or, you can think even bigger than that!

So, you can start small and grow over time when you’re ready. On a small scale, the entire project can be done by you. Or, you can definitely outsource some activities to free up your time. EIther way works!

How much can you make website flipping?

You can earn up to $300 to $1,000 per month website flipping. The amount you make is dependent on many factors like the profitability of the site, site age, assets included in the sale, etc.

At the end of the day, you only need one buyer so a small site not producing income can still fetch top dollar and produce an excellent ROI (return on investment) for you.
