Identify your skills and interests

Consider your strengths, passions, and expertise to determine what kind of online work you would enjoy and excel at. It would be great if you did something online that you actually enjoyed.

Research online opportunities

Explore various online platforms and websites that offer job opportunities, such as freelance marketplaces, remote job boards, and gig economy platforms. Take your time and review what’s out there. Do a thorough search online to see what online opportunities actually exist.

Develop a professional online presence

30 Easy Ways how to make money online for Beginners

Dive in to read how to make money online, the beginner-friendly way. Let’s go!

1. Paid online surveys

100 dollar surveys

Paid online surveys are a popular way to earn a little extra cash while sharing your opinions on various topics. This is one of the only ways to make money today online.

Here’s how they work:

  1. Sign up for a survey platform: There are many survey websites out there that will pay you for your feedback, such as Swagbucks, Survey Junkie, and Survey Voices. You’ll need to create an account and provide some basic information about yourself, such as your age, gender, and location.
  2. Complete your profile: Once you’ve signed up, you’ll need to fill out your profile with additional information about your interests, hobbies, and lifestyle. This helps the survey platform match you with relevant surveys.
  3. Take surveys: You’ll receive notifications when there are surveys available for you to take. The surveys can range in length from a few minutes to up to an hour, and they typically ask you questions about products, services, and your opinions on various topics. The survey platform will compensate you for your time and feedback, usually with points that can be redeemed for cash or gift cards.
  4. Cash out: Once you’ve accumulated enough points or cash, you can cash out and receive your payment via PayPal or other payment methods.

It’s important to note that while paid online surveys can be a fun way to earn a little extra money, they won’t make you rich overnight.

The compensation for each survey can vary, and it may take some time to accumulate enough points or cash to cash out. However, if you enjoy sharing your opinions and have some spare time on your hands, paid online surveys can be a great way to earn some extra cash in your free time.

What to consider

Paid online surveys generally don’t pay a lot. You won’t be able to earn a full-time income from this.

At most, a few hundred dollars extra per month is what you can make.

There are fun surveys to take online and paid online survey sites can also include other ways to earn like:

  • Playing games
  • Watching TV and movies
  • Listening to music
  • Online shopping
  • Discovering stuff online

High-paying $50 surveys and $100 surveys do exist and could be a path to making more money.

Paid online surveys can make you up to a few hundred dollars per month.

2. Become a TikTok creator

tiktok

Becoming a TikTok influencer is a popular way to make money online by creating content and building a following on the TikTok app. There’s a lot of money in content creation and influencing.

Influencer Nas Daily made $366,000 halfway through 2022. Kirsty Ip created 6 income streams from her food content creation business on Instagram as a microinfluencer!

I started a faceless TikTok account myself, many times. I have a bunch of TikTok accounts and they earn me money every month.

If you are already a content creator, monetizing your presence is how you can make money online today. I’ll show you how…

Here’s how it works:

  1. Create an account: First, you need to create a TikTok account and start creating content. Choose a niche or theme for your content, such as beauty, fashion, or comedy, and start creating videos that are engaging and entertaining.
  2. Build a following: To become an influencer on TikTok, you need to build a large following of fans who enjoy your content. You can do this by using popular hashtags, collaborating with other creators, and creating videos that are shareable and engaging.
  3. Monetize your content: Once you have a following, you can monetize your content in several ways. One way is through brand deals, where you work with brands to promote their products or services in your videos. You can also earn money through sponsorships, where companies pay you to create content that promotes their brand.
  4. Join a creator fund: TikTok also has a creator fund that pays creators based on their video views and engagement. To join the fund, you need to meet certain criteria, such as having at least 100,000 followers and consistently creating engaging content.
  5. Keep creating great content: To maintain your following and continue making money on TikTok, you need to keep creating great content that your fans will love. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and keep experimenting with new ideas and formats to keep your content fresh and engaging.

You can be an anonymous TikTok creator, too. This is good for introverts who don’t want to show their face. My ebook for faceless TikTok creators teaches you how to start a faceless TikTok business online.

It’s important to note that becoming a TikTok influencer takes time and effort, and not everyone will be successful.

However, if you’re passionate about creating content and building a following, TikTok can be a great platform to showcase your talents and make money online.

TikTok creators can earn up to $20,000 to $30,000 per month and up.

3. Website flipping

website flipping

Website flipping happens when you sell a website for a higher price than your costs. You can do it by either:

  • Buying a website and flipping it or,
  • Building a website and flipping it

Let’s look at examples of each.

Buying a website and flipping it

In this example, consider you bought a website for $250, then you added more content, grew the site and sold it for $1,000 3 months later.

You earned $750 before fees and considering there were no other costs.

Building a website and flipping it

In this example, consider you built a website for $50, then you added content and sold it for $350 a month later.

You earned $300 before fee and considering no other costs.

Buying and flipping vs Building and flipping

Both ways work. Buying and flipping is good if you have a budget for buying websites. This could range from $50 to thousands of dollars per website. This path can lead to higher profits usually.

Building and flipping is good for people who have a limited budget. You could build a website for under $100 and flip it for a profit. This could work for flipping starter sites or seasoned sites.

I’ve made six figures flipping websites. It’s fruitful, lucrative, and a fun way to make money online. Website flipping can earn you a part-time or full-time income.

My ebook talks more about how website flipping works and teaches you to create and flip starter micro websites. For more advanced information including building and growing seasoned sites and building a full-time website flipping business, my online course is also available.

Website flippers can earn up to $250,000 per year and up!

Making money flipping is a hassle-free way how to make money online for beginners. You just flip what’s around the house.

It’s something I personally used to do, every year around the holidays. I’d go room by room, gathering extra stuff I wanted to get rid of and sell. Then, I’d usually list it for sale on Ebay. I’d make a few hundred dollars during the holiday season and used that extra money to buy holiday gifts.

How to start flipping stuff around the house

To get started, take a look around your house and see if you have any items that you no longer need or want. These can be things like clothes, furniture, or even electronics.

Once you’ve identified these items, take some good photos of them and post them for sale online on sites like eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or Craigslist.

If you don’t have anything to sell around your house, consider checking out thrift stores, garage sales, or even online marketplaces like OfferUp.

Look for items that are in good condition but are being sold for a low price. These can include vintage clothing, furniture, or collectibles.

Once you’ve purchased an item, clean it up and make any necessary repairs. You can also enhance the item by painting it, adding new hardware, or making other small changes that will increase its value.

When you’re ready to sell, be sure to take good photos and write a detailed description of the item. Price it competitively, but also make sure that you’re making a profit.
