Stock flipping refers to the practice of buying and selling stocks quickly to capitalize on short-term price fluctuations and generate profits.
Car flipping involves buying used vehicles at a lower price, making any necessary repairs or improvements, and then selling them at a higher price.
I have flipped handbags, women’s accessories, wigs, all kinds of stuff, literally. Flipping happens when you pawn your tablet or small appliance. The pawn shop will offer you a lower price than what they intend to sell it for, so they can make a profit.
For example, they might offer you $100 for a TV that they intend to sell for $250, making a $150 profit.

Building a website is about creating a website from scratch. You’ll choose a niche, develop the site, add content, grow it and then sell it when you’re ready.
Building sites have some major advantages:
- Cheaper than buying a website
The drawback is the time. While building a site can literally take place in a few hours, if your goal is to sell websites for the most money, they’ll need to be seasoned. This means they should be at least 2 years old.
So, you save money by building a site, which can be done for less than $100. But, you lose time, waiting until the website is established.
Buying sites and flipping
Successful website flippers leverage their skills in identifying undervalued websites, improving their performance, and capitalizing on market opportunities. It requires a combination of business acumen, digital marketing knowledge, website development skills, and a keen understanding of the target audience and market trends.
Buying has some advantages:
- Invest in a fully developed, established website
- Eliminate Google sandbox time
- Get a return on your investment faster
Mainly, the cost. Buying a website is almost always more expensive than building a site. But, if you have a budget, you save time. You’re paying for time savings here and that’s worth it to many website buyers.
It’s all about personal choice. I tend to build websites because I enjoy the process of website development. It’s fun to create something from nothing and then flip it for profit.

Website flipping doesn’t have to feel like a big, elaborate process. It’s actually much more straightforward than you might think. Here’s how you do it…

Choosing a website niche is an important decision that can impact the success and profitability of your website.

Build the Website
Now that you know what you want your website to be about, it’s time to start the build.
- Choose a web hosting company (I use Siteground)
- Get a domain (you can get a domain with Siteground, as well)
- Add WordPress (your content management system)
- Apply plugins, choose and apply a website theme
Add Content and Growth Strategies
Write content and publish on your website. For example, if you start a gardening blog, then write gardening blog posts and publish them on your site.

These make it easy to create blog posts for your website. I have personally used all of these tools.
Sell the Site
Then, when the time is right, you will sell your website. This is completely up to you. You can sell the site when you feel ready. This can be after a month, 3 months, 2 years, whatever you wish.
Generally, the longer you hold onto a website, the more seasoned it becomes and the more valuable it can be.
