I discovered a GA4 alternative called Fathom Analytics and this is my Fathom Analytics review. After joining a business Facebook group in my niche, some people were talking aÅbout Fathom Analytics. It sparked my curiosity because it’s a Google Analytics alternative. Ever since Google Analytics switched over to their new GA4 format, it’s been the bane of my existence.
It’s challenging to look at all the data, I spend way more time navigating through all the pages and I can never get exactly what I need.
I just dealt with it, not really considering looking at a Google Analytics alternative. Then Fathom Analytics comes along and I jumped on board, testing out their 14-day trial. Here’s how it’s going so far…
What is Fathom Analytics?
Fathom Analytics is a Google Analytics alternative. You get a short string of code from them for your site that you paste into the head section of your site and it instantly starts recording your website visits!
The dashboard is simple, sleek and modern. It’s easy to see:
- How much web traffic you’re getting
- Where traffic is coming from
- The number of sessions versus the number of pageviews
I’ve added a few of my sites to my dashboard so far.
Here’s a look at the dashboard…
Okay, so here are the features that you’re dying to know about…
- Google Analytics importer: This helps you imports your Google Analytics stats right into Fathom
- A privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics tool
- Unlimited data retention: This helps you see all your data, not just data from the last month or last 6 months
- CSV export available
- Data filters
- Dark mode
- Referral program
Fathom Analytics pricing
There’s a free 14-day trial to test out Fathom Analytics.
Then, you can move onto a paid plan.
How much does Fathom Analytics cost?
They offer plans ranging from $15 to $45 per month.
You can see this screenshot from their site which breaks down what you get from each plan. Basically, the more web traffic your site gets, the more expensive your plan but, overall the plans are all pretty affordable, in my opinion.
Fathom Analytics Review
Is it worth it to pay for something you can get for free?
In my opinion, yes. That’s why people pay for grocery delivery when they drive to the store and buy groceries in person. Or, why you pay for a gym membership instead of working out at home.
You’re paying for convenience and other perks that you’re not getting from the free version.
For me, $15/month is absolutely worth it for me to easily access the analytics data I need.
My favorite feature is that it shows web visits all the way down to 1 web visitor per month! With Google Analytics, it cuts it off around 40 visits per month so, the lower trafficked web page data I can’t access at all. It’s a total pain but, it’s alleviated with Fathom.
This wraps up my Fathom Analytics review.
As you can see, I’m all for the tool!
