  • Job placement

Why sign up?

The main reason to sign up for DesignLab is to learn more about UX design.

Maybe you’re a web developer, and you have always been interested in the design side of things but have found it hard to find an entry point into that world.

DesignLab can give a good understanding of how UX designers think and approach projects, which makes it much easier to figure out what you want out of a career as a designer and how you can get there.

DesignLab is good for improving your skills as a designer overall, too.

A lot of what they teach in this program is similar to what junior developers are taught by their mentors at work—things like:

  • user research
  • storyboards/wireframes
  • active listening vs passive listening (and why it matters), etc.,

But with an emphasis on how these things relate specifically to designing digital products such as websites or mobile apps instead of just building software systems from scratch like most back end devs tend  to do all day long.

Designlab pricing

The Designlab course is a paid one.

The cost of it depends on the number of projects that you want to complete, so it might be cheaper if you are only interested in completing one or two projects than if you want to do all four of them.

How much does DesignLab cost?

The cost is $6,850. That’s if you pay upfront but,  monthly payments over 6 months and over a longer period of time are also available.

If you pay for the course in full upfront, there’s a 20% discount available. You can also get a discount if you are a student (of any age).

The pricing plans are:

  • 6-monthly payments
  • Upfront payment
  • Long-term financing

Designlab reviews

Looking for a DesignLab review from students that went through the training?

Designlab reviews are overwhelmingly positive.

This is not surprising, as most people who use Designlab are satisfied with the service they receive. However, there are some situations in which a customer may be unhappy with their experience on the platform or with a project’s outcome.

There are also Designlab reviews that give mixed impressions of the site and its services. These reviews can be useful for users looking for insight into how others feel about using Designlab to create designs or logos.

How long does it take to complete the course and land a job?

The course can be completed in 6 months with a landed a job 3 months after that.

You can learn by yourself, but it’s a lot easier to get help from people who have already done what you want to do.

This was one of the reasons a lot of people choose DesignLab—the mentors are full-time designers and have been doing this for years. They had a lot of great advice for me as I was working through it all.

If you don’t know anyone else who is in design school or working as a designer, check out our mentor community! You can ask questions about your projects and get feedback on your work or career path from experienced professionals at any stage of their career paths (from junior designers to senior leaders).

Designlab can help expand your skills, provide a ton of great mentors and help you find your first UX job.

Final Thoughts | DesignLab Review

Designlab can be an excellent way to learn UX design and get a job in the field. I’ve been using their tools for over two years now and they’re still going strong!

The pricing is affordable, especially if you sign up for their annual plan, and the curriculum is tailored towards beginners who want to learn more about UX/UI design.
