  • 10 Cheap Housing Options to Avoid Being Homeless

You’re going to learn about cheap housing options to keep a roof over your head. I saw this documentary on YouTube the other day and it was so heartbreaking. In the heart of the pandemic, this couple suffered from reduced hours at work, which caused them to fall behind on rent.

Their landlord was unwillingly to grant them an extension and when they took action and went to court for an extension, unfortunately they lost. So, now they live in their car.

Luckily it’s just the two of them and they don’t have kids but the documentary told their story, including how trying to find a place to live now is so difficult with an eviction on their record.

Don’t let this happen to you.

Things get tough and housing is the most important thing. A roof over your head is SO IMPORTANT. I couldn’t imagine being homeless yet so many people in the U.S. are. Here are some cheap housing options to look into if you’re struggling. These will help you save money avoid being homeless like this couple I watched in the documentary.

10 Cheap Housing Options to Keep Your Housed

    1. Move in with family

If you have family that is willing to take you in, live with them. If you can, pay them a small rent, too. This will help things out, trust me. Use the time you stay there to get on your feet.

    2. Move into a storage shed

Check the rules in your area for this as it may vary from place to place. Get a storage shed and you can get them cheap for around $30 to $80 per month, then move your stuff in and you’ve got a place.

I have seen so many people do this. They outfit the storage space with a bed, lamps, some furniture, all their stuff and they’re set.

This can be a short term or long term solution for you. Many people who travel a lot do this to save money on housing. Others who need a super cheap place to stay do this to avoid being homeless.

    3. Rent out your place

AirBNB out your home. This works if you own or you rent. What you’ll do is rent out the entire home other than one room, which is the room you’ll stay in. Do this everyday and you’ll make enough to pay for your housing payment plus some, most likely.

    4. Stay in your shed

While AirBNBing your home, if you want to rent the entire place, you can stay in your shed. Add a small bed, your essentials and you’re set. People prefer to stay in an entire place without the owner living there I think, so this will make your AirBNB listing more desirable and help you rent it out more which will make you more money.

    5. Move to a cheap condo

Opt for buying a condo instead of a house. You may get a smaller space but even with the HOA fees, you’ll pay far less usually WITH the perks of homeownership.

    6. Get roommates

There are tons of apps out there to match you with roommates. A roommate can literally cut your rent payment in half.

    If you’re paying $1,000 a month, get a roommate who pays 50% and you’re now paying $500 a month.

Plus, if you go half on utilities, groceries and other bills, you can save even more!

    7. Live in a motel room

have you seen those motel rooms advertised on the side of the highway on the billboards? They offer a furnished motel rooms for one to $200 per week. This is a cheap housing option you can take it vantage of you want to save money on rent.

    8. Live in a van

Then living is something more and more people are adopting. You buy everything and then outfit it full-time and you just found yourself a cheap form of housing. This may require some investment up front if you want to install a refrigerator and other appliances including a bed.

But there are cheap ways of getting around this deal. If this sounds interesting to you, how to YouTube and check out the van life Youtubers. There are a ton of channels in this niche that you can learn French so you can start your van life journey.

    9. Live in an RV

This works well if you do your work online. Michelle from Making Sense of Cents did this traveling around in her RV while logging in making full-time living. You could choose to include or not include the travel part but RV living is being adopted by today and it’s a form of housing you can take advantage of.

    10. Live in a tiny home

Tiny homes take less space and require less energy to power them. So if you live in a tiny home you could save money big-time on everything from the housing payment to the cost of the utilities and much more. Check with the tiny home builders in your area and see what options are available to you..

  • Can I buy a house with bad credit?

Yes, You can buy a house with bad credit. In this article I’m gonna show you how you can achieve your dream of becoming a homeowner even if you have less than perfect credit.

And even if you have down in the dumps credit.

The best thing to do to increase your chances of qualifying for a home loan is to start preparing early. The earlier the better so, if you dream about buying a house I would recommend starting preparation around 12 to 18 months out.

This will give you plenty of time to monitor and work on your credit as well as get prequalified for a home mortgage loan.

How to buy a house with bad credit

Can I buy a house with bad credit?

Now, short of improving your credit in advance of buying your home, there are still ways of buying a house if you have less than stellar credit.

The first option is to buy a house cash.

How to buy a house cash with poor credit

You don’t need credit in life. It can make things easier if you don’t have enough cash but cash is always king so if you have enough money in the bank you can always purchase a home as a cash buyer.

Doing this is probably out of reach for a lot of people. It means saving a lot and saving consistently over a period of time or having a very high income that would allow you to save lots of money quickly. How ever out of reach this may feel, it is still an option to help you buy a house with bad credit.

How to buy a house with owner financing

The next option to buy a house with bad credit is to get owner financing.

Owner financing is where the home owner of the property that you want to buy is willing to self-finance the sale of their home to you directly.

This works kind of similar to a traditional bank mortgage loan except instead of paying the bank you will be paying the owner of the home. This is more high risk especially for the homeowner so if you go this route, expect for your interest rates to be higher than if you were to security a traditional mortgage.

And this is the cost of having bad credit. Bad credit doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t make big purchases like buying a car or buying a house but, it will be more expensive and this is an example of that.

How to buy a house with a hard money loan

Another way to buy a house with bad credit is to secure a hard money loan. Hard money lenders can be found online through some quick and fast research.

Just head to Google and search for “hard money lenders near me” or something similar. With hard money loans it’s really based on the collateral.

These lenders are less concerned about your ability to repay the loan since the house is the collateral and if you default they can collect the property as their payment. This is another higher risk kind of loan so if this is an option you pursue, make sure to look at all the fine print as these loans may be more strict with their default rules and come with a higher interest-rate and higher payment.

How to improve bad credit so you can buy a house

How to buy a house with bad credit

This is an option that I hope you decide to pursue because it means you can increase your chances of landing a traditional mortgage loan with a lower interest-rate and a lower payment.

Plus with stronger credit you’ll be able to secure credit cards and get other types of financing more easily like car loans or personal loans. It just makes things easier when you have good credit though again, it’s not required in life.

While the three options shared above are opportunities to buy a house with bad credit, it may make more sense for you to take time and effort to fix your credit. This is the cheaper route to go so if money is a concern, listen up.

If you plan and prepare, waiting 12 to 18 months before you make your house purchase, you can totally turn around your credit.

Here is a step-by-step guide of what to do to improve your bad credit.

Step 1. Check your credit report

First, look at your credit report.

You are allowed one free credit report per year so head to Credit Karma and check your report. Keep in mind the report is free and if you’re curious about your credit score, this may cost money but it’s usually pretty affordable and under $20 or so.

When you are reviewing your credit report, the main thing you want to look at is if there are any inaccuracies. Inaccuracies are things that are wrong on your credit like credit errors.

Some examples of credit errors may include accounts on your credit report that are not yours, payments that are reporting late in error, names or information on your credit report that is wrong, etc.

Once you identify these errors you can start taking steps to correct them which is going to be step two.

    Step 2. Review your credit

Next it’s time to correct the inaccuracies on your credit report.

You can do this yourself but I would recommend working with a professional. The reason why you should work with a professional is because it will be less stressful and overwhelming for you, you can put this project in the hands of a professional who can work quickly and efficiently to resolve any issues you have on your credit.

If you choose to take this project on yourself, in this step you’re going to contact the credit bureaus to address the inaccuracies and dispute those items so they can be corrected and/or removed.

Pro Tip: Work with credit repair specialists

If you do decide to take my advice and work with a professional to fix your credit, I highly recommend Lexington Law. I have many friends and family members that I’ve gone through Lexington Law to help them fix their credit. They are professionals, they work quickly and efficiently and you’ll start getting results almost immediately.

Keep your eye on the prize and remember the goal is for you to fix your bad credit so you can buy a house. This step is crucial and you definitely want to address it and avoid a delay as it can cost you the house that you dream of.

    What they’re customers are saying

I know several people that have gone through them to turn around their credit. Here’s what some of their customers are saying…

    lexington law
    credit: Lexington Law

After working with Lexington Law there’s really little that you need to do beyond this. They’re gonna work on your behalf to contact your creditors, resolve any discrepancies and help you boost your credit.

While you’re doing this I recommend saving money because if there are accounts that you owe on that are accurate you’ll want to resolve them if they’re in bad standing and you can even negotiate with the creditors to have them delete those poor reporting accounts and exchange for paying off the debt.

And you likely will not even need to pay 100% of the debt you can negotiate a lesser amount amount.

Click here to learn more about Lexington Law.

    Step 3. Boost your credit

Put your credit in the hands of Lexington Law and keep paying your bills on time and look at opening one or two small credit accounts and keeping them in good standing.

This shows the banks that you’re trying to get qualified with that other creditors were willing to take the risk of taking you on as a customer and you kept your accounts in good standing and made your payments on time.

If you’re having a tough time trying to find credit to get approved you can look at opening a secured credit card. You could also check out Self Lender which is a great way for you to build credit while saving money.

You pay a small $15 fee to Self Lender to set up your credit account and then you make payments every month. While making those payments, they go to a sort of savings account and at the end of the term you’ll have that money available to you.

So if you pay $50 a month for 12 months which is your term, at the end of 12 months you will have $600. Plus you’ll have 12 months of good positive payment history on your credit report. Something else you can do to boost your credit is to get set up as an authorized user on a credit account with someone who has good credit like a parent or family member.

So, you can be added as an authorized user on a credit card and while those payments are being reported positively that will help you to increase your credit.

Do this for the 12 to 18 month window. The goal is to make your payments on time, keep a positive payment history, while addressing any negative or delinquent report reporting accounts on your credit report so those can be resolved and deleted and be replaced by your current positive payment history in good standing on your credit accounts.

Getting your finances ready to buy a house

how to buy a house with bad credit

When you’re buying a house you have to know that you’re gonna need money.

That can be money that you use to pay off debts that you have now as well as money needed for closing. When you close on a house there are closing costs and while you can negotiate for the seller to pay those cost for you, it’s a good idea to be prepared and have that money set aside in the bank just in case you have to pay them.

You should start as early as possible with raising some extra money. Check out these seven get paid weekly apps which are a great source of additional income. These entry level remote jobs are good for making money too.

You can use the money you make from these apps to pay off your debts and save extra money in the bank.

Final Thoughts : How to Buy a House with Bad Credit

So this is the magic recipe to help you buy a house with bad credit.

It can definitely be done. There are a lot of steps in the process but it’s totally worth it to escape rent and become a homeowner.

I have been a homeowner and I’ve also rented a house so, I can tell you that homeownership is so much sweeter. Not having to worry about putting holes in the walls by hanging pictures or getting permission to change out a door knob or paint your living room.

The freedom and flexibility to install hardwood floors for upgrade your kitchen, add a pool in the backyard or do whatever the heck you want in your own house. The feeling is priceless and it’s something that you can get with being a homeowner.

How to make money Website flipping

If you’re looking into legit ways to make money, you’ll interested to hear about website flipping.

Website flipping is a lucrative way to earn a living and/or a side hustle. I have been flipping websites for over five years now and I absolutely love it. My first flip made me nearly 6 figures and since then I have flipped dozens of websites. It’s a thrilling, rewarding and fruitful side hustle that gives you a ton of perks like:

    • Independence
    • Flexible schedule
    • Be the boss
    • Unlimited income potential

Here’s how to make $2,500 per month flipping websites…

How to make $2500 monthly website flipping

Aim to sell sites for $300 to $500 each. You will need to sell around 5 to 9 sites in a month to hit $2,500.

This may sound like a lot but the process I can show you is super easy and it’s rinse and repeat. You can create these websites for flipping one at a time or you can batch them out in lots of three or 10 or however many sites you want to flip.

    Website flipping is not new.

Tons of sellers have been doing this for years and if you head to one of the places I frequently use to sell my sites you will find other sellers that sell dozens of websites every single week.

That site is Flippa by the way.

    Is website flipping profitable?

yes website for being can be profitable. Consider investing $100 into developing a website and flipping it for months later for $2000. You just made $1900 in four months from one website. What other investment can you get a return like that so quickly?

What are the easiest items to flip?

other than flipping websites there are a ton of other goods that you can flip like antiques, collectibles, furniture, cars, houses and more. For more ideas on things to flip check out these 10 easy things to flip.

How do you make money flipping?

    Here’s how you get started…

    Create the website

When you flip website you can go in one of two directions.

You can buy a site or you can build a site.

Buying Websites for Flipping VS. Building Websites for Flipping

Buying a site is advantageous because you can get into a website that’s already existing and more seasoned. That’s going to make it easier to rank content and make money faster. The drawback is the investment which can range from a couple hundred dollars to a couple thousand dollars or more.

Building a site is cheaper and only requires a budget of around $50 per website. It’s more work to rank the site and make it income-producing but, it’s the cheaper alternative. And you get to develop the site any way you like, rather than takeover from where someone else left off, like with website buying.

Of these two options I prefer building websites. So that’s what we’re gonna talk about in this article.

Step 1: Pick a niche | Flipping websites

First you need to pick a niche. Your niche is your websites mean topic like cooking, nutrition, fitness, travel, budgeting, fashion, camping, etc. next you are going to pick a website name and the website anymore match your domain name. You don’t have to put a whole bunch of thought into this.

The main thing is that the name should make sense for the kind of website that you’ll be building. I want to discourage you from using numbers in The website name order me name. I also recommend that you do not use hyphens, special characters or consecutive letters like XXX or ZZZ.

After picking knees and choosing your website name and domain name, you should check that your domain name is available by going to You can do a free domain search there to check availability.

Once you confirm that your domain name is available, it’s time to purchase web hosting and the domain. Web hosting is required when you’re running a professional website. It’s really simple to buy and after you have it, along with your domain, you’ll be free to start building your website right away.

I recommend Bluehost. They offer hosting for under $4 per month and it comes with a ton of perks like free domain, free SSL certificate, and more.

Step 2: Add content | Flipping websites

The content is the meat of your website. For content say it’s like blogs this consist of articles revolving around the niche of your site. You can write the articles yourself. You can also outsource that writers you find and hire or you can use PLR content.

    Step 3: Monetize| Flipping websites

Monetizing your site means you are making it income-producing. You do this with ads, affiliate marketing, and in other ways.

The easiest way to start making your website income-producing is by placing ads on the site. This will be passive income and you can start with Google Adsense for this. As your site grows, I recommend you switch to Mediavine (minimum 50,000 sessions per month).

I feel like marketing is another smart way to have your website begin to make money. You start by joining an affiliate network then you promote products in that network on your website and refer people using affiliate links.

    Examples of networks to join:

Step 4: Promote your website to search engines

Promote your website to search engines and across the internet so your traffic can rise.

Promotion is how you will drive traffic to your website.

The website does not need to make money and it does not need to have traffic in order to sell in a website flip. But, it does make it easier to sell the website if it does have income coming in and traffic coming in, so keep that in mind.

When you try to balance the content creation and promotion you want to focus on promoting the site more. That’s because you can spend all this time creating content writing articles and outsourcing articles for your website but if you don’t have the traffic that means nobody’s going to read it was awesome articles. There are many ways you can promote which include using social media like posting to Instagram or creating a Tik Tok video.

You can also do email marketing, you cannot work online in Facebook groups and forums, as well as guest post for authority sites which can help your content and website be found online and attract traffic from search engines.

Step 5: Flip for profit to make money

When it’s time to flip your website, this will be a very exciting experience.

You are one step closer to your goal to make money.

Your sale can happen in as little as 24 hours or up to 7 to 14 days or longer. Most of my website sales happen in 3 to 7 days.

If you’re new to flipping I recommend you check out the website, Flippa which makes it super easy to sell your website seamlessly. You can join Flippa for free but there is a listing fee for placing your site for sale in their marketplace. Once your site is listed for sale just make sure to make yourself available and be responsive as people will ask you questions about the site.

    That’s the process, my friend.

Driving jobs really resonate with me.

Although I’ve never worked in a driving gig job, short of delivering some pizzas in my college days, I do have family members that I’ve worked in delivery gig jobs and it really work for their lifestyle.

A family member of mine drove for Uber and it was an excellent fit for his family and lifestyle. He was able to care for his baby during the day while his wife works a 9-to-5 job.

And then he had the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as he wanted.

He even participated in their lease program which allowed him to drive a brand new car as an Uber driver!

Is there an app that pays?

What driving app pays the most?

Get these questions answered and more. Keep reading.

Without any further delay, here are 7 driving apps that pay!

    7 Driving Apps That Pay

    1. Uber/Lyft

Uber and Lyft are companies where you can work as a driver. You’ll be a taxi driver, more or less, but using your own vehicle.

Benefits of Driving for Uber or Lyft

The benefit of working this job includes:

    • Working when you want
    • Working from your car
    • Casual dress
    • Weekly pay and on-demand pay
    • And, other perks!

If you’re looking for a job where you can clock in and clock out when you desire, this is a great job for you.

Drawbacks as Working as an Uber Driver (or Lyft Driver)

The only drawback is that you’ve got to have your own car. Uber and Lyft do not provide vehicles for you to drive.

Anytime you use your own car for a job, like others on the list, you have to consider the vehicle depreciation. It’s gonna have greater wear and tear. You will be putting more miles on the car, driving it more, and the value will decline at a faster rate, just because you’re using it more.

Consider this but, it can still be beneficial and worth it to work as an Uber or Lyft driver. It is a perfect beginner job with no experience needed.

Drivers can make up to $25 per hour, depending on where they drive. There are requirements for drivers and vehicles that you want to consider but if you have a clean driving record, you’re of age (at least 18) and your car is newer (10-years old or younger), you’re good to go.

For the exact car requirements, here’s a list:

    – must have 4 doors and be able to transport a minimum of 4 passengers
    – vehicle model must be 15 years old or newer
    – title cannot be salvaged, reconstructed, or rebuilt
    – rental vehicles – except those from an approved Uber lender – are not allowed
    – cannot have any cosmetic damage, missing pieces, commercial branding or taxi paint jobs

You can read more about Uber vehicle requirements.

This is the exact job a family member of mine had and he absolutely loved it!

Aside from driver and vehicle requirements, you also must know that passengers are going to rate their experience. The longevity of your career as a driver is based on providing amazing service and a great experience to passengers in your car.

This means, be safe of course, be courteous, other drivers provide bottled water and mints, some drivers even go far beyond this with ketchup packets, magazines to read and more. This is all extra and not necessarily needed to get a great rating.

In the end, think about the experience you’d like to have as a passenger in someone else’s car and perform the best you can.

    2. Instacart

Instacart is a grocery delivery service that delivers food and groceries to customers doorsteps. The shopper position is in charge of doing the grocery shopping at the store. The driver position is in charge of safely delivering the goods to the customers door.

No car is required for the shopper job and a car is required for the driver job.

    Have you ever tried Instacart?

Its a really incredible service so invaluable for busy families, myself included. And, since the pandemic hit in 2019, it’s been a core part of my family’s grocery experience so we can stay away from crowds. I personally use Instacart for my Costco deliveries.

They also partner with stores like Total Wine, Sprouts, Target, Sephora, and more stores.

Imagine buying food and goods and having it delivered to your door, same day! If you’re curious about trying it, you can use my link to check it out. You can save an hour or longer out of your day by working on things you need to and leaving the grocery delivery to Instacart!

What does the Full Service Shopper Do?

You’re going to do the in-store shopping and deliver the order. Yes, you are getting paid to shop! How cool, right?

    • Consistent access to a vehicle
    • Consistent access to and be able to effectively use a recent smartphone (iPhone 6s / Android 5.0 or newer)
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation

And, this page is where you can apply!

What does the In-Store Shopper Do?

In-store shoppers do only the shopping part of the job, no delivery. You will receive the grocery order on your phone and then shop the order in store.

    Here are the requirements:

    • At least 18 years old
    • Eligible to work in the United States
    • Consistent access to and be able to effectively use a recent smartphone (iPhone 6s / Android 5.0 or newer)
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation

Both jobs are amazing but, if you don’t have consistent access to a vehicle, you’ll want to go for the in-store shopper position.

Here’s where you can apply to be an in-store shopper.

    3. Shipt

Shipt is grocery delivery made easy. They are a competitor to Instacart. You can make up to $22/hour working for Shipt!

Today, you can get sushi delivered, Indian food, African food, Korean food, on and on and on! It’s so exciting visiting the Doordash app and trying a new restaurant, exploring their menu, splurging on drinks and desserts.

We don’t do this often but when we do, it’s a real experience. I even have DoorPass, which gets me free delivery.

If you haven’t tried Doordash, you have got to try it. I’ve done Postmates, Ubereats, Favor, Grubhub, etc.  While those are good, I think Doordash is great.

Use my link to give them a try if you haven’t already (they send you coupons and promo deals! I just got 50% off my order and free delivery yesterday!)

    5. Favor

I discovered Favor a few years ago. I really like them because they offer a wider delivery net (for a fee of course). With long distance driving, I’m happy to pay a few dollars more to get my favorite Thai food that’s over 5 miles away.

This is going to be similar to other food delivery jobs on the list like Doordash and Grubhub.
